Society should consider giving felons that want to change their life around for good a second chance. Society needs to see that’s it’s a fact, some felons have the potential and knowledge to better themselves, even after doing time for a crime committed. Society does not want to see the effort and sacrifices, commitment that some felons take to rehabilitate themselves and life style. They should be given the opportunity to succeed in life, like any other human being in society, free of criminal record.
Society usually thinks of a felon, as a low life that only breaks laws. God forgives, why should society judge felons? Who are they to judge? This is very sad, because no one should be judged for the mistakes they have committed in their life. Society has to see; no human being is perfect-nobody is! An example, would be, someone who wants to graduate College and be able to get a high paying job. It is not fair to only get paid minimum wage, just because you are a felon. Here is a great example, before I was arrested; I was a Medical Records Clerk for Pacifica Hospital in Sun Valley CA with a salary of twenty-six dollars an hour. Now that I am a felon, for transporting controlled substance (Crystal Meth) I can’t seem to get a job that will pay for my knowledge, although I have a lot to contribute. I had a career before going to prison and since society/Government does not allow me to work in the medical field. The point is, that being a felon did not stop me from wanting more from life, which is why I am attending Charter College- to get a second career that does not involve the Medical
