Should Professional Athletes Be Paid

Wouldn’t it be amazing to be paid nearly $111 million a year just because you played a game? Many athletes are being paid big bucks just like famous quarterback Andrew Luck. But do these famous athletes really deserve all those millions of dollars? In my opinion, they are definitely being paid an excessive amount of money. Professional athletes are paid too much money in an unfair way because they are paid more than the people who “perform more valuable services”, and the money they earn could be reinvested into the community instead, along with the expensive game tickets. “The average ticket to an NFL game costs nearly $86. That is ridiculous!” I think it’s ridiculous because when I think about the thousands of people at a game, and each of them paying about $86, all that comes to my mind is that the NFL is making about half a million dollars or more per game. “Also, if professional athletes were not paid so much, tickets to games might not be so incredibly expensive.” Game tickets are probably so pricey because the NFL, like any other league, has to make enough money to pay its players millions of dollars. Professional athletes all around the world are making millions of dollars each year just because they played a game. But the question that everyone asks themselves is, “Are professional athletes paid too much money?” My answer is, yes, and I have my reasons to support my opinion.
