The issue of separating the religion from the state has not been resolved by now. Many people are still debating whether religion and the state should or should not be separated. Opponents of religion and the state separation often use the arguments related to their religion scriptures. On the other hand, supporters of religion and the state separation use many sources outside religious scriptures and factual data to refute the other party’s arguments. Hence, I believe that there are several reasons why religion and state should not be separated.

It is because the law-making process is taking consideration from many views including religion and state. For example, a country which uses Islamic democracy, such as the United Arab Emirates, will make laws based on the “sharia laws” with the consideration of their state affair and condition to avoid any uproar from the minority. The law-making process consideration towards religion and state are important to make sure the law is fair to every group of people including minorities. Nevertheless, that argument is not practicable. That is why there is another argument that said the religion and state need always to be separated for maintaining Fundamental Rights where the failure to do it may create anarchy. One of the examples can be seen in the Japan history.
