Sidney Goodman’s shows the viewers a perspective of a falling family. The child sits in the middle of the father and mother, which creates a triangle among them. This means that the child connects the parents and that she is the main reason that her parents are still together. This picture makes me have pity upon her because she tends to receive pressure from her circumstances of the family. The artist distant her from her parents and puts her in front of the painting. I believe that her parent’s actions have an effect on her. She is not looking at her parents; however, her head is down, which represents shame and disappointment.
