Sierra's V: A Short Story
Sierra's POV:

I scribbled my last few words on the paper. I looked to my rose tattoo planted on my wrist, I hope you liked it as much as I did Mom. Suddenly, I heard a faint creek from behind me. My head snapped around to my temporary bedroom door. It was wishful thinking, but for a moment I thought it was my mother. "Hello?" I climbed back through the window and slammed it shut. "Hello?" I repeated. My feet tiptoed across the floor, careful not to make a sound.

"Kids! Groceries!" Stormie called from below. I leapt into the air and held onto the door for support. My heart was thudding deep in my chest and my hand instinctively reached to cover it. God she scared me.

Ross exited his room casually, watching me heave up and down. "You good? You look like you've seen a ghost or something." He lifted his hand to my shoulder, then pulled away as if I had shocked him. I nodded and caught my breath. "Groceries wait for no man," He smiled looking me up and down, "or woman." I rolled my eyes and followed him down the steps.

Later, when Mark had arrived home we had to eat a 'family dinner' together. The meal was delicious (I even secretly stashed some away for later).

"How was your first day of school sweet heart?" Stormie forked some potatoes

For some reason I had thought the sky would be a little less dark here. It was just another cloudy night that would cover the last of the twilight, beating the blackness away. It concealed the stars between the streams of gray and hid the glorious moon behind its stretching and ominous blanket. There were no birds to fly down, but instead were replaced my low clouds that swooped in the thick air. It had became my ceiling and the roof was my bed. It looked like an accident, a simple spill of ink that ran across the page. They were the blackened shadows that shifted in the inconstant wind. It was a mess and so was I. I waited patiently to be engulfed by it

As the wind screeched ominously and the lightning crackled in the sky, the people decided to retreat to the warmth of their houses. The candles were dimmed and the shutters were closed and the streets were mostly deserted. The storm blew all night and the next morning dawned fresh and blue. Nobody would have thought that just the previous night, an ugly storm had brewed up in that place.…

It was a deceptively beautiful summer night in the month of July; Resplendent and artistic to people with discerning tastes and sensibilities. The sky was ornamented by splendiferous celestial beings. The waning moon was accessorized by the clouds, suspended mid-air in a picturesque, aesthetic fashion, wanting to augment the peculiarly blissful setting. The violet sky couldn’t have been any more sublime.…

You have been warned! Dusk was creeping away in the horizon leaving a fresh wound smeared across the face of the sky. Decayed marshes emanated a sour scent; forming a revolting tempest in my nostrils that cascaded like shattered glass through my windpipe. A foreboding aurora dissipated every ounce of bravery in my heart and displaced it with an unprecedented trepidation.…

"Watch where you're going kid" some old man yelled after me. My almost black, dark brown hair flopping in my equally as dark brown eyes. I run to the middle of the meadow grabbing out my pen and journal and started to quickly sketch the sky before it was too late. I begin to scribble down the different clouds and colors in the dawn sky. I felt like my body was being controlled by the artists before me.…

Her heart was beating a million times a minute. She tried to lay still but she started to hear footsteps. The steps began to get louder and louder. And before she knew it the end of the rug closest to her was starting to shake. She quickly got up, with the rug still over her, and ran with all her might. “BOM!” “BOM!” She heard something smashing the floor with big thumps.…

It was a grey afternoon with a dull sky. The wind was sighing in the tree top and boughs moaned. The dark, ragged and ominous clouds drifted over. Surprisingly, instead of beating down a curtain of rain from heavens, it only brought drizzle. “I wish it would rain cats and dogs.” Sylvia talked to herself while she was sitting in a bus looking up to the eerie sky.…

"Lyla!" I hear my mother shout as I run down the halls. I hurry down the halls and outside to my secret garden. I reach the secret door behind the tall mirror and I look around. No one is looking so I quietly pull on the mirror and open the door behind it. I slip through and shut the mirror and door behind me. I take my uncomfortable shoes off and let my toes dig into the cool grass. I walk back to the bench swing between the trees and sit down. I listen to the small stream flow by and sway on the bench. I grab my notepad and colored pencils from the hidden compartment in one of the trees and sit in the grass. I flip past my many drawings to a blank page. I look for something I haven't drawn in my garden yet and that's when I notice something. I set my notepad down and walk over to the strange object. I pick it up and it's a letter in a bottle, I pry off the cork and dump out the letter. I unroll the letter and look at it.…

There I was, alone in the dark. Nothing but silence lingering through the air. I could hear the traffic from the freeway from afar. I looked down, and there she was, dead before my eyes. My hand was shaking vigorously like I was nervous about something.…

As soon as I stepped into the front door of my house It was complete madness. There were a bunch of strangers in uniforms talking to each other and as I scanned the front hall I was in utter confusion. No one even noticed me, no one was telling me what was going on. I plopped down my bag and sprinted up the stairs. As I turned the corner, I looked over to see my brother on a stretcher and my mom clutching his arm. Splotches of blood peeked through the white bandages covering his wrists. My mom’s head jolted in my direction and I could tell she was trying not to let tears overcome her. “I didn’t expect you home from school so early. Just go to your room, you’re not in trouble. I just-- I’ll talk to you later. Don’t worry everything is gonna be ok. I love you.” She kissed my forehead and the paramedics brought them to the ambulance.…

“So, how are we going to catch this Nogitsune and save Lydia?” I was sitting down on the couch in a crossed-legged position. It was late and I wanted to go to bed, but of course they needed me at the pack meeting. “Maybe we should go all together and try to catch him.” Scott proposed. I cleared my throat. “Suicide mission.” Isaac, who was standing opposite of me, was looking at me. “What did you say?” “I said that it’s going to be a suicide mission if we all go there at the same time.” He began laughing. “Come on Y/N, you’re not even smart enough to come up with a plan. You’re even worse than Stiles.” I looked over at Stiles and he was looking angrily at Isaac. Now I began laughing. “Maybe you should have stayed in the freezer.”…
