Sim Game Strategy Analysis
Our Sim Game strategy has changed from our intended strategy during the game process. We planned to start with two brands to focus on two different markets. Brand A targets on basic style low quality market with low profit margin and more products, while Brand B starts in the middle and finally aims for the premium market with higher profit margin and high sales promotion. We were able to implement our intended strategy for Brand B, but Brand A ended up targeting the basic style high quality market with high profit margin and sale promotion.

Consumer behavior, market attractiveness and assumptions about our competitors were the main factors that we used to form our intended strategy. For brand A, we decided to target on the basic style low quality market because we expected our competitor would move to others markets in the later rounds. We thought it would be profitable if we were able to avoid high competitive areas and dominate that market with more products. In addition, market attractiveness was the reason why we had Brand B

All of our team members were willing to present and listen to opinions, which made communication smooth and effective. We were able to keep in touch all the time and have regular meetings to make sure that we were on track. We assigned roles based on our personal skills. My team’s objectives were to raise the awareness of our charity, raise over £1000 and raise as much money as possible and to run successful events. We were given £100 to start our events and had to budget what we spent. We had to decide our individual roles before we started planning any of the events so we all knew what we had to do but this was a bit of a struggle as it was hard to define, in the early stages, who had what roles. However, our team was effective because we all helped each other with different tasks and then all began to found out our strengths and our weaknesses. We all listened to each other and try to make everyone in the team feel welcome and not make them feel left out. For example, When Sandie joined our group it was a while after the team was formed so she may have felt a bit left out but we all tried to make her feel welcome and she took on the role of being in charge of all the health and safety and risk assessments for the event.…

The market share domination starts in year 2 with a 25 percent market share, followed by $1.2 million dollar profit between Adam and Ace. We split marketing and promotion costs between the two products; however, our marketing costs were still budgeted too low between the products. We still had low customer awareness when compared to our competitors, but our customer accessibility had a great in percentage increase by splitting costs in promotion. Adam’s price got adjusted to the highest end of the price range so we could sell out of our remaining inventory, and we did not produce as much to compensate for left over inventory. We expected our profits would be low this round; however, we knew they would increase as the rounds…

    Team Communication

A major obstacle for team members is the lack of basic communication. Without communication team success is highly unlikely. Interaction is important, as it shows how team members work together to accomplish tasks and perform effectively. Communication is especially important to coordinate and cooperate with other team members to achieve collective goals. "Being an effective team player calls for frequent and extensive communication" (Hughes, 2003, p. 22). Once individuals recognize the importance of communication, they become aware of how successful communication can be. "Skillful communicators think like mediators, focused on mutually desirable outcomes as opposed to winning at all costs. Relationships are important to them, and they recognize the need to tailor their comments to the listener in order to be heard" (McCarthy, 2007, p. 6). Members should actively communicate and encourage each member to participate. Every member of the team should also be allowed to state their ideas, give suggestions and express their opinions. This allows every one to engage in open discussion. Valuing each others differences and viewpoints allows every one to feel part of the team. In turn, members believe they are a valuable member and can contribute to the team 's task. "Members contribute to the success of the team by using their unique skills and talents" (Bragg, 1999, ¶ 6). Once ideas are presented and individual skills are identified, the team can establish each member 's role and individual tasks. Team members can work on tasks and communicated…
