In Surah II, the Qur’an expresses “worship none but Allah, for Allah is all-pervading, all, knowing” (verse 83,115). Much like Christianity, Muslims believe that Allah is present in all aspects of their lives and that Allah is the only divine entity. Likewise, Allah is the Almighty-maker, for “it is He who hath created for you all things that are on earth; moreover His design comprehended the heavens, for He gave order and perfection to the seven firmaments; and of all things He hath perfect knowledge”(Surah II, verse 29). Allah “has dominion of the heavens and earth” (verse 107). Allah creates as an act of unconditional love so that the Muslim people can share in creation, much like God in Christianity. Allah created man and has control over death, yet Muslims believe in the resurrection of the body. For “He (Allah) gave you life; then will cause you to die, and will again bring you to life; and again to Him will ye return” (verse 28). Accordingly, Allah has infinite power and “there is no god but He, -living, the self-subsisting, Eternal” (verse 255). Additionally, mercy and forgiveness come from the divine Creator, for “Allah is to all people most surely full of kindness, most merciful” (verse 143). In Christianity, Jesus comes to Earth, by the power of the Holy Spirit to eventually be put to death on the cross. The crucifixion is “God proving his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us, which lead to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 5:8,21). Different from Christianity, Muslims believe that God raised Jesus to Himself, and so they deny Christ’s Resurrection. As a result, Islam and Christianity differ in turns of attaining salvation. In Christianity, Christ’s Resurrection is the means of redemptive salvation to attain eternal life, while in Islam, “Allah will judge them in their quarrel on the Day of Judgement” (verse 113).
