Even though Truman didn’t come up with the best solution to becoming satisfied with life, he tried. Truman is intelligent because he knew that there was something wrong in his life and made an attempt to fix it.
Overall, I find Montag and Truman to be intelligent because the both tried to correct their problems. They made an effort.
