Similarities Between The Giver And The Truman Show
A utopia, a perfect place a new and awesome world. My utopia would be somewhere where sunshine and football all year around, But that isn't true to everyone. Many people have tried and failed to do that to our society. It is something that can never happen it's not possible, and Both The Truman Show by Peter Weir and The Giver by Lois Lowry, have had an impact on the world. They both have constructed and changed the presentation of reality, and both characters realize their world is fake, they become disillusioned and search out the truth.But in the end they both seem to find out that there world are not utopias but dystopias. First the book The Giver, Every person's life is carefully planned when they are born. People rarely make choices on their own.

In The Truman Show there is a guy who made the show so he controls everything that happens to or around truman. He controls when it rains and when it shines. He even controls the people around Truman. He controls what they say, where to go, and how they act around Truman, because they are paid actors and are told what to do by the directors. But In The Giver, everyone in the community is the real deal. No one there is a paid actor with a someone feeding them lines. Everything in the community is real. Also in The Giver, no one lies. You don't speak their feelings and tell dreams , you have to take a pill to stop the feelings for people of the opposite sex, you you even have to apply for children and marriage. In The Truman Show, the life that Truman had was a little more realistic. People lied, they sometimes spoke feeling and dreams, they were allowed to like who or what pleases them, and they picked their own jobs. Which shows that the truman show is more like a actors or like a celebrity in a way because his like is full of people feeding lines to people. Like a celebrity
