Similarities Between Islam And Christianity

Islam and Christianity are different religions with different beliefs. There are many differences that can be easily stated between these two religions. Even though both religions differ in many ways, they share some similarities in their prayer principles, such as their prayer timings, praising god and idolatry. Firstly, in both the religions, they have specified prayer timings that are mentioned in their scriptures. The timings for offering the prayers were clearly mentioned in the scriptures of both the religions. Their scriptures illustrate the timings when a believer is supposed to pray in a day. Both the scriptures also motivate the believers to pray daily through submission and supplication towards their god. The specified prayer timings can be easily manifested by the statement stated in the Psalm 55:17, "Evening, and morning, and at noon will I pray, and cry aloud; and he shall hear my voice." This is the other similarity that can be observed in both the religions beside the commonality observed in their prayer timings. While praying, the believers praise their god, devote themselves, and thank him for all the things they receive through his will. This is validated by reading the Holy Bible, Colossians 4:2, which states that, "Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving." This illustrates that how Christians are supposed to praise their Lord during their prayers. Furthermore, a similar thing is mentioned in Holy Quran, 1:2, that "[All] praise is [due] to Allah, Lord of the worlds." This verse of the Holy Quran is recited by the Muslims while offering their prayers. This clearly illustrates how that the Muslim believers praise their Lord while praying.
