Similarities Between Percy Jackson And The Lightning Thief
The title of my book is Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. The author is Rick Riordan, One of the techniques in this book is Symbolism. The symbol to the characters in my book is the pearls. The pearls symbolize freedom. They need the pearls to save Percy's mom from the underworld. Hades the god of the underworld was keeping his mom in his house. The pearls would allow them to leave the underworld after they save Percy's mom. Another technique the author used in writing this book is flash forward. In the beginning of the book Percy see's a oracle. A oracle is a person/machine that tells you your mission or prophecy. The oracle said that Percy was to set out and save his mom from Hades. So right there anyone who reads this book will know

    Percy Jackson has to go through the Road of Trials, The road of trials confronts you with takes or challenges. Percy has to face many characters on his road to fix the gods. Percy fights medusa, cerberus, luke and others to get what he has came for, Poseidon's Bolt. His ability to continually beat and out fight opponents allows the Road of Trials to be noticed and to form. The hero takes him to Saint Louis, Las Vegas and back to NYC where he is met by his father. Saint Louis contains a needed pearl so does Las Vegas. This is called the Night or Sea Journey. The novel guides Percy around the United States so he can accomplish his goal. The Dragon Battle is not literally a dragon with a battle but a battle with a power that is clearly stronger than the hero. In the case of the Lightning Thief, Percy fights a Hades. Hades was the one who took the lightning bolt from poseidon and stirred all this mess. Lastly the Sacred Marriage comes into play.
