Pharmacists must ensure that the dosage is correct for the patient and his condition. Pharmacists must check with patients to find out what other medications they are taking. Some drugs cannot be taken together because they cause negative reactions. Other times one drug may dramatically increase or decrease the effectiveness of another medication. Pharmacists review the prescription with the patients. They educate the patient on how and when to take the medication, any potential interactions with common foods, herbal remedies or over-the-counter medicines and any side effects the patient may experience. Pharmacists may also be responsible for managing technicians and other staffers. Pharmacy Tech’s primary duty is to prepare medications following a prescription order. They take pills or liquids off the shelf and measure out the appropriate dosage. Then they add labels to bottles to direct customers on when and how to take the medicine. Pharmacy techs spend some of their shift on the phone. They field calls from doctors' offices calling in prescriptions and from customers who have questions about prescription orders, pharmacy policies and store hours. He chose the field of Pharmacy because his grandad died in a drug interaction. His advantages of working in a Pharmacy are the controlled climate and good teamwork job. He chose to work at this particular pharmacy because Walmart is the best at providing you with help. They are open from 9am-9pm monday-friday, 9am-7pm saturday, and 10am-6pm sunday. He works 40 hour weeks. He works two days and is off two days and alternate every other friday, saturday, and sunday. The Pharmacy is closed on Christmas and Thanksgiving but open on 4th of july and business holidays. His daily duties at the Pharmacy are to give vaccinations, fill prescriptions, council patients, take orders from doctors, and manage associates. He fills about 200-225 prescriptions per day. He makes 150,000 a year but should expect around $115,000-$130,000 a year. His advice to me was to check out my other options because the market is flooding and it’s a very stressful
