Mockingbirds and Scout Mocking birds in real life what they do is basically nothing but to sing for us. They do not harm any crops, corns etc. They do not hurt anything or anyone. In other words Mockingbirds are innocent. That is why in Harper Lee “To Kill a Mockingbird” Mockingbirds symbolizing scout.
Scout and Mockingbirds are both similar. They are both innocent. A mockingbird does not harm anything or anyone. Scout wants well for ever one. She is not racist. She sometimes does not understand what her father, Atticus, has to say all the time. Throughout the book, Scout's happiness and blissful ignorance are tested as she's exposed to racial discrimination. For example, when Atticus is called a "nigger-lover"(Lee 65) Scout does not know how to react because again, she is unaware that such hatred exists.
Scout also parrots the things she hears around here without understanding what she is saying. She asks Atticus if he "lawyers for niggers"(Lee 123) because that is what she has heard, just as a mockingbird not knowing what it is repeats sounds without knowing their meaning. Because she is too innocence to know what it means just like mockingbirds when they hear something they repeated without even knowing what it is. When Scout sees the mob and notices that Mr. Cunningham is a part of it, she talks to him about his son Walter, who is in
Her class. She talks in a friendly manner and surprises everyone when she says to Mr. Cunningham "entailments are bad" and explains that Atticus has helped him to resolve his entailment problems. This positive and friendly attitude of Scout leads to the mob leaving Atticus and Tom alone and going away. None of them had expected a young girl to act so nice and warm when they themselves are showing hatred towards Tom ad
