Sir Gawain is the nephew of King Arthur and he shows his loyalty by taking his place to challenge the Green Knight. “Only you as my uncle have I any honor.” Sir Gawain respects his uncle so much so that he’ll put his life on the line for him. of deeds of great strength and performing courageous actions by challenging himself to mysterious obstacles. “Hit me, hero! I’m right up to here with your threats! Is it you that’s the cringing coward after all?” He is showing great deeds by going against the Green Knight for his uncle. The cause for Sir Gawain to perform these great deeds it caused many more unusual events to happen.
To be a great warrior and traveling over a vast land is one of the challenging things Sir Gawain had to face. By cutting off the Green Knight’s head does Sir Gawain show that he’s a great warrior.
