Simon Birch Opinion
The opinions of others should not affect our choices. They should not because only we can truly find our destined path. No one can truly understand the journey we want emotionally, willingly, or how we feel we want to walk them. Using quotations from various resources – mostly stories, the argument of weather others opinions matter or not will be over. Over with the side that thinks the opinions should not, as the victor. The first quotation comes from the film, “Simon Birch”. In that film, Simon is constantly told that he will amount to nothing from most of the people he knows. Later in that film, Simon proves them wrong by making a great impact on the other character’s lives by saving them in a car crash. You see, only we can make a difference in our life. Others opinions can make an impact on our life I we decide to. Simon Birch could’ve adapted their opinions as his own but, he would have never made an impact on their lives if he did. He wouldn’t have gone on the trip if he didn’t push to go – even when they told he couldn’t go. …show more content…
That is not true. That is not true because there is evidence of that someone can still make their dream come true, even if someone else tries to use their words urge them to not follow through with it. The evidence I speak of come from the story “Popocatepetl and Ixtaccihautl”. This quotation says, “They reached the capital toe days later, having traveled without sleep all the way, and quickly; let it be known that, although the emperor’s warriors had been successful against his enemies, the warrior Popo had been killed in battle.” In the “Popocatepetl and Ixtaccihauti”, Popo’s allies used their words to try to stop Popo from achieving his dream.
