Simone de Beauvior believes that woman are dependent while men are not. Just by the title of the article she already states her view "Dependent Love in Women". From the beginning of the article she explains to the readers about the weakness of women. ""Woman is weakness, insufficiency, the "eternal impediment," that source of irrationality..."". She says that women are dependent in love because women tend to forget themselves and get lost in love, so deep that they lack remembrance of who they really are. It is a belief that we are placed on earth to please god, therefore when a woman is putting all her time and devotion into a man, it's almost like praising a god.
