1. The vagus nerve stimulate the sinoatrial node or SAN, which is the pacemaker of the heart. Is a small area in the upper wall of the Right atrium, close to the vena cava; the fibers of the of the SAN contract 70 times each minutes, and after that the impulse is disperse across the atrial cardiac muscle.
2. Simultaneous contraction occurs in both, the right and the left; that is mean between tricuspid and bicuspid valves.
3. The atria contraction sends impulses
down the Purkinje fiber, which in turn stimulate the atrioventricular node (AVN), and is a mass of modified cardiac muscle located in the lower/central part of the right atrium of the heart.
4. The action potential from the impulse transmitted down the Purkinje fibers reaches the right and left branches of the Purkinje fibers.
5. The ventricles contract for that reason, which pushes blood upwards into the arteries that take the blood away from the heart to the lungs, and the aorta to the body. (Ivyroses.com, 2003)
As this being explain we can understand why the heart has a critical responsibility with the whole body.
It is noteworthy that the blood is the food that allows the continuity of the human body healthy and functional, without it the body would die each organ collapse due to lack of food and nutrients
