This report examines SK Telecom’s Corporate Social Responsibility activities and suggests strategic recommendations for the company’s future development. It gives an overview of SK
Telecom business strategies as well as its CSR program. The report focuses on evaluation of the
CSR program’s effectiveness and efficiency. Analysis includes the evaluation of the program on different levels: from how it was implemented to its final outcomes. It identifies opportunities and challenges that the CSR program imposes to SK Telecom. Conclusion consists of discussion on creative suggestions such as revised strategy, organization restructuring and teambuilding, their effects and potential risks.

Description:
The SK Group is one of the four major chaebols in South Korea. The group was founded in 1953 as a textile production company. By 2008, the SK Group had a USD $27.4 billion market capitalization with USD $83.5 billion revenues and USD $6.8 billion net profit. The SK Group employed 30,000 people globally in 106 different locations. Since the establishment of the SK Group, it contributed to
Korea’s economic development and made the country a leader in information and communication technology. There are several subsidiaries operating under the SK Group that work in areas such as chemicals and film manufacturing, energy supply, marine transportation, asset management and financial services, and automobile distribution services.
