The first store was opened at Interstate 40, Lebanon, Tennessee in September, 1969. Further Evins incorporated the company in 1970. In early 1970s, the firm leased land on gasoline station sites near interstate highways to build restaurants. By 1980 eventually the company phased out the number of gas stations on-site as the company focused on its restaurant and gift sales revenues.
