Slob: Ellen Potter
Slob is about an overweight twelve year old genius named Owen Birnbaum. He is bullied because; he is the fattest kid in school. P.E is a nightmare for Owen. His evil gym teacher bullies him just because he is overweight. He only has one real friend. A Tibetan man helps Owen discover the wonderful adventures that life brings him. Owen starts to realize that someone is stealing his sweet, sugary Oreo cookies. He is sick of being robbed; soon Owen starts to deal with it himself. He figures he might be closer than he thinks to finding out who did it. He befriends a former bully in the process. Owen parents got killed when he was younger. He was adopted by the 911 operator who took his call after the murders. On his spare time Owen builds this contraption called Nemesis that can make him see television shows from the past. By making this contraption, he believes that he can solve his parent’s murder and find out who is stealing his cookies. He thinks he is getting somewhere … but he was wrong. Eventually he figures out that his sister actually just "rigged" the TV so it would show really old shows. She did this because she felt bad that her brother was overweight and was trying to make him feel better about himself. But it will take a revelation for Owen, not science, to see the answer’s not in the past, but the present. That no matter how large he is on the outside, he doesn’t have to feel small on the inside.
