THE PROBLEM

Introduction
Technology has always been advancing throughout the years. It has made a big impact on people especially on lifestyle. It has been a common source of information and entertainment. Technology changes the way of learning and living of people specially this X-generation also known as “the millennials”. Smart phones, tablets, laptops and the like are commonly used gadgets as a channel of any information (good or bad).
People use these new technologies to connect and communicate with their loved ones wherever they maybe. They are using social media such as Facebook, Twitter and the like to give such information, pictures, and/or videos as their way of communicating and updating them to whatever moment and life

They are free to use them during break and dismissal time. For quite some time, Al Danah International School was lenient of imposing the rules and regulations of the school (ADIS’ Student Handbook, Code of Discipline Section 1. Confiscation, and 3. Offenses and Sanctions) in terms of bringing and using smart gadgets and social media at all times.
In a way, these gadgets are used not only in their own pleasure but also for some reasons they are used to abuse, to mistreat and/or to intimidate others, to take oblivious picture, to save uncensored photos and to download malicious photos and videos that affect other students. If you are not careful, unscrupulous student can target you for cyber bullying and harassment on social media sites. School children and young minds can fall prey to online attacks which can create tension and distress.
One way or another, an uncontrolled incident happened to the students of Al Danah International School that led the Administration of passing the following memorandum sent to every parents on October 31, 2016 about disallowing the use of Touch Screen CP with Facebook and other Social Media access in the school

Scope and Delimitation
• This study is set to the Junior High School students of Al Danah International School, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
• The study will examine the students who use smart gadgets and social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and the like in the school.
• The study will determine how these smart gadgets and social media site use to affect others’ lives.

Significance of the Study
The study on the “Effects of Smart Gadgets and Social Media Ban to the Junior High School Students of Al Danah International School” may be significant and beneficial to the following:
The Administration. (Policy makers of Al Danah International School Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia). The results of this study may be used as basis to strengthen their campaign and support in all aspects in formulating plans that will secure the welfare and address some problems encountered by the students. The researcher believes that this study would have a contribution on the fields of securing the welfare and addressing some problems encountered by the
