Snoop Dogg Cannabis Case
Snoop Dogg, Willie Nelson, and Melissa Ethridge walk into a cannabis dispensary. If it were a marijuana joke it would be funny. But in the world of legal cannabis these three celebrities truly are jumping into the fray together.
Leafs announced in November that Snoop Dogg’s name is attached to the brand. Snoop’s investment company holds a stake in Leafs, merryjane.com, and other marijuana-related businesses. Willie made news in September when his pot brand ‘Willie’s Reserve’ earned private equity funding. Melissa Ethridge has a cannabis-infused wine.
These three celebrities put on a good face for legal marijuana and cover most demographics that perhaps never tried marijuana but are interested. Of course, Snoop’s followers tend to be avid

In regard to the Simple Possession of Small Quantities Of Marijuana Decriminalization Amendment Act of 2013, I have one recommendation that would assist in strengthening the legislation. I pose that the policy administration expunge the records of individuals with prior convictions of possession of less than one ounce of marijuana. Since the act aims to prevent disproportionate arrest rates amongst District residents (mainly African-Americans) in addition to decreasing collateral consequences (e.g., criminal records, losing employment, losing financial aid, losing property, etc.), I believe it is equally fair to give those convict in the past a second chance. For the individuals formerly convicted contributed heavily to the statistics used…

Reflecting on the 1980’s hilarious films “Cheeks and Chong Next Movie”, “up in smoke” or more recent movies such as “Half Baked” with Dave Chappelle, we all laugh at the effects of the marijuana use have on the different characters in those films. Of course, a common saying was marijuana will rob a person of their ambition, and is the gateway to the usage of other extreme drug use. More than twenty years ago the lack of education of cannabis caused people not to support the now present effortless access to medical marijuana. However, The Compassionate use Act of 1996 or Proposition 215 in the state of California has convinced me to reevaluate my old perspective in this matter and promote the use of medical marijuana.…

For years, the argument of whether marijuana is a beneficial or a detrimental thing for athletes has been a controversial topic. Many people believe that it is a danger to society, while others believe that it is completely harmless. Several athletes have confessed to using marijuana; as a result, the big question surfacing is whether or not athletes should be able to use marijuana in order to make their training easier. In the essay, “The Need for Weed,” by Chris Lee, the author argues that it should be legalized for athletes to use marijuana. Lee argues athletes should be able to use marijuana due to the fact that it’s a great recovery aid, it’s already being used effectively by several athletes without harm, and it doesn’t give athletes an unfair advantage; with that being said, I believe that Lee’s arguments are very logical, and I agree with him. Lee provides solid evidence, statistics, and credible sources throughout his…

“Between the pages of a book is a lovely place to be.” One night when I was about twelve years old I came home from school and found my mom in her room lying propped up on pillows at the head of her bed, with a book in her hands reading. Suddenly, she burst into a hearty laugh that made her put down her book momentarily as she regained her composure. I asked her what was she reading that had her laughing so hard. She told me it was a book by an author named Sister Soulja called “The Coldest Winter Ever.” With a scrunched up face and through squinted eyes I asked “you’re reading about winter?” With a soft chuckle she replied “No, that is the name of the main character.” That intrigued my interest because I never heard of anyone being named after a season before. So I asked her to tell me more about the book. Once she was…

This is a subject that has been up for debate for quite a few years now. The generations of the 20th century where blind and medically illiterate to the dangers of cigarettes in fact they believed it was health approved. Only a few decades later people started to realize the demons of smoking and plagued America with 5 million deaths a year ever since.…

In response to the question “should the Canadian government decriminalize the possession of marijuana?” Citizen One thinks that decriminalizing marijuana is a step in the wrong direction. She believes that there should be increasing penalties for marijuana possession and that the government should enforce harsher punishments and laws in relation to drugs. Citizen One thinks that if the government of Canada criminalizes the use and possession of what most youth consider as “weed,” then less lives would be destroyed. Marijuana is a drug which impairs a youth’s ability to recall, suppression of the immune system; and short-term responses including anxiety and panic. Hence, Citizen one believes that the negative aspects of the drug simply outweigh…
