At the same time it shows closure to a ritual spell or asking the deities if they could will it or even believe it to happen, so shall it be.

It is a blessing, an affirmation, it makes us stand up, tall and strong, and passes our will into weave of energy, making it stronger. It's not to release the energy, it's more personal, it's putting more energy into the workings we are doing. It is a very strong phrase that I wish I would have learned about sooner, instead of overlooking and ignoring it.
The reason I completely missed the mark on So Mote It Be was simply assuming that it was unimportant. I have said and wrote the phrase so many times that it didn't have the energy that it should have and I personally let it fall through the cracks. Until this assignment anyways! The strength and power from this phrase has come to me through the ages and now I have a better understanding of what it means, I am having a hard time justifying the ignorance I had towards it just a few days
