There were changes in many other areas such as social changes. During the middle ages there was a rise of a new class, known as the middle class. This new class marked the decline of the feudal system. The people of this group had freedom and money. They grew in number and in power. As they grew the middle class became a threat to the noblemen and eventually they took away the nobleman's
political power. This had an impact on the Renaissance because it made the people more equal and more individualistic.
The middle ages was a dark age for learning, a period of ignorance and superstition.
