Social Classes During The Renaissance Era

The Renaissance era proved to be a period of various shifts into a more technoligically, morally, and individual society that had developed many of the concepts and ideas we proceed to use today. The social structure used previous to the Renaissance period was organized in a strict form with boundaries and rules and held great importance as social status and class determined your entire lifestyle. However, as society began to shift into the movement of a more artistic and humanistic society, focusing on person rather than a whole, the barriers of social classes began to decompose as these barriers were being broken down by the uprising wealth of the merchant class and the growing disregard for religious entirity. This new wealth created through
hardwork upset The Nobles who often inherited their wealth, in turn disrupting the balance of the clear (not so clear anymore) lines that seperated class. As new ideas were being developed to further the humanistic ideals of the time, the social classes of the Renaissance became slowly but surely unimportant, the artificialty of a time ceased to exist as knowledge was being persued.
