Some characteristics of a modern nation state are centralization of power, strong monarchs, and national identity and loyalty. It is based on the idea that the state can treat large numbers of people equally by efficient application of the law through the bureaucratic machinery of the state. (Nation state)An example of a nation is the Kurds. The Kurds, who are about 25 million, are the largest ethnicity in the world without a state of its own. Kurds now live in parts of Turkey, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Armenia and Azerbaijan. Men wear baggy trousers with matching jackets. Women wear long dresses over trousers. The Kurdish shoe is called a klash. Kurdish music is a vital part of their daily life. They have instruments such as flutes, drums, and an ut- ut which is a type of guitar.
Kurdistan consists basically of the mountainous areas of the central and northern Zagros, the eastern one-third of the Taurus and Pontus, and the northern half of the Amanus ranges. The highest points in the land now are respectively Mt. Alvand of southern Kurdistan in Iran at 11,745 feet, Mt. Halgurd in central Kurdistan in Iraq at 12,249 feet, Mt. Munzur at 12,600 feet in western Kurdistan and Mt. Ararat at 16,946 feet in northern Kurdistan, both in Turkey. (About the Kurds) An example of a state is Angola. The geography of Angola is the area is about 1,246,700 sq. km. The Capital of Angola is Luanda which has a population of about 6 million people. Their climate is tropical. Their people are called Angolans and consist of about 18,000,000 people total. Angola has a republic government and they gained their independence November 11, 1975. Their Branches consists of the Executive--elected president (chief of state), vice president, 2 ministers of state through whom other ministers are expected to report, 28 ministers, 21 secretaries of state, and 39 deputy ministers. Legislative--elected National Assembly (220 seats; 3 seats are reserved for Angolans out of the country and remain vacant).

Homelessness is a topic I can relate to very well, coming from a poor background and living from paycheck to paycheck has caused me to be out of residences for over ten months. It was very hard to comprehend, living under a hotel with my two daughters taught me to seek out and learn what causes homelessness.Having a background of being a nurse it was hard for me to live without a roof over my head.My oldest daughter was pregnant at the time and had no adequate health care , so it was tough for us.I am petitioning for credit from Excelsior College toward my degree in the Health Sciences department. This class will meet one of my health sciences cores.I learned a lot from being homeless.Writing is my best subject and talking with several ladies over the years who was homeless with smaller children made me learn that being homeless is a social disease and sometimes not a mental disease.Associating homelessness with mental illness does tie in for some people.…

Bikers have always been seen as “outcast” – they don’t always live the lives of the majority, and usually refuse the typical values the society imposes on us by engaging in outrageous behavior. The Hells Angels are members of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club who typically ride Harley Davidson motorcycles. Despite common inclination towards spelling their name as “Hell’s Angels”, the official site claims the missing apostrophe represents many types of “hell”. However, grammatically correct, there still should be an apostrophe after Hells, even if using it in a plural sense.…
