He has a MSW and is a LMSW working as the director of budget for the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. I appreciated the fact that he was honest that if you are getting involved with social work for the money that it’s probably not going to be the best job for you. However, if you are getting involved in the career to help people than social work as a profession will help you to do that. There were many similarities in the answers between him and his wife as well as the way that it made me feel. As I have personally helped with this camp in the past I was filled with warmth by the responses. That this camp allowed them to see the children that the dealt with in a different light in a setting where they could be kids again by allowing them to experience a non-adult work for a week at camp. Overall I really enjoyed getting to interview different individuals that are in the social work profession and grained some useful insight into the different career paths. I think that like the interviewees have said that a lot of the time social work is seen in a negative light.
