Judging is forming an opinionated conclusion about someone or something. Socially judging is a branch of judging. This form of judging is judging someone stereotypically; comparing and holding a fixed image or idea of a specific type of person or thing. Females all across the whole wide world are being socially judged and punched in the face by social standards. Females are faced with standards and fixed images by society every given day. Many standards are almost impossible to even be possibly met. If these difficult standards are not met, females are harshly judged. A student named Sarah Kim surveyed her fellow classmates at Los Angeles High School of the Arts, on the controversial subject. When the students are asked which gender is judged more harshly, majority of the students answered with “Females.” A freshman named, Tiffany Kim states that, “ “It is a social standard to ‘being skinny’, ‘being skinny’, ‘being tall’, ‘having a small face’,and ‘having a thigh gap’.” The teenager said, like many other teenagers have said, “If you do not have the glorified features that the almighty society believes to be desirable,you are not considered socially acceptable. A male teenager had something different to say. A high school sophomore named Justin Lee was asked about the situation and he stated, “The ideal physique for a male is a fairly muscular image, but not too muscular and not too skinny. Every other desirable feature is out of our reach if we were not born with it”(Kim). It is argued that everyone is held to social standards. There are many specific roles that we, both male and female, must fill and are expected to fill, only because of our very gender. Another teenager said ”Females and males have hard times, not one more than the other,“(Jin).Girls are looked down upon or demoted if they do not act feminine.
