Using the sociological perspective of your choice, how might you explain the widening income inequality gap in the United States? Sociological perspective of disparity and inequality is often widening the income inequality gap in United States. There are certain baselines to measures the degree of disparity and whenever this baseline deviate from its expectations it lead to inequality and injustice. Difference in raking is known as disparity. In real life there is no society that exists without disparity. To differentiate between superiors’ performers and inferiors, it is important to bring wage differentials. Wage differential is considered as fair when it is based on the performance but it is unfair if it is based on unreasonable factors. This will result in inequality and is should not be allowed. When the person received income is not the result of fair assessment, the gap in income is considered as unreasonable and inequitable. Therefore unfair evaluation leads to inequality in income. Inequality is the concept influenced by social norm and social injustice is deeply involved with income inequality .Sociologists considered occupation are most reliable element to measure quality of life, like difference in the lifestyle of a doctor and road construction worker. This is not just because of the difference in the income; the difference widens also because of the gap in social prestige, employment security and life chances.
