Joe and Jerry do not have any money because their work got caught the night they were to be paid the first time, and after pawning their overcoats, Joe loses the bet on the dog. They dress up to get money and to get away to Florida, where they believe living will be easier. Sugar is running away from the same type of men that dump her to find a young millionaire who is smart and kind. Pike has so much money that he cannot spend a moment alone; rather he is getting too much attention from people that wish to use him for the money that his father makes. Both the movies focus on romances that are created with the lady’s knowledge about the man’s money. Daphne, though not a biological woman, is told directly from Osgood that he is very rich and willing to date and marry her, as long as his mother approves. Joe masquerades as the son of a millionaire to fool Sugar, who is pretending to be a debutante to catch a millionaire. Jean knows that Pike has a boatload of money, though her original plan was to win his money from him in a card game. In her defense she did not plan to get married to Pike for money, though when they got married it was more for revenge and love than the money. The woman’s knowledge of the money is what led the couple together in the first place, though all the couples fall in love and end the movie happily, though we do not know what happens to them once the movie is
