Song Analysis: Help Is On The Way
The song I chose is “Help Is on The Way” by Rise Against, a punk rock band. I like a lot of the songs by then not only because they sound good but they also sing about problems and issues in our society today and “Help Is on The Way” is no different. The band is also very proactive in promoting activism with this song does very well especially alongside the music video. I chose this song because it has a strong meaning and is about issues that had occurred that most people already know the background to and I thoroughly enjoy the song itself. This song basses most of its argument using pathos. It makes the listener feel sorry for those who were left stranded on rooftops after hurricane Katrina and for the damage caused by the Gulf oil spill.

    I enjoy listening to this song anyways as it is in my native language and one of my top childhood songs. The song is about a couple who is in love with each other but when the guy has to leave for the US, they broke up. He later returns and the love is still there. This is a very cute story and I love singing the lyrics that describes his feelings for her as he was away. If I broke up and get back together with my boyfriend, I would want this to be our scenario, that we broke up and got back together because of distance or circumstances, not because we wanted this.
