Song Analysis Of All Of Me
John Legend’s biggest hit today “All of Me,” was his first number one single in the United States and the second best- selling song of 2014. The song and music video are primarily dedicated to his wife, Chrissy Teigen. But there is a secondary audience, those people in relationships who value love. “All of Me,” by John Legend is a positive message he uses to express his love to his wife. The song uses repetition, imagery, and lists to create emotions about what love means to him. Repetition is what Legend uses to get the point across that he loves his wife out to his fans, and for his fans to feel loved by their loved ones as well. By repeating a phrase like “All of me loves all of you,” he continues to confess his love and makes …show more content…
He continues to describe events in which he will always love his wife. “You’re my downfall, you’re my muse my worst distraction, my rhythm and blues,” is a great example that Legend uses to list how his wife brings out the good and bad in him, and he is okay with that. Even though there might be rough times between them, he notices that his wife will always be there for support. Not every relationship is perfect and he explains that by saying it is okay to have struggles and hard- ships. Legend is so devoted to his wife, he will think of anything to prove that she is perfect in his mind and that is all that matters. For instance, “even when you’re crying you’re beautiful too the world is beating you down, I’m around through every mood,” he wants her to know that he is always there for her, even when she is at a breaking point. His wife might think that she is not worthy or not perfect, and that causes her to be in bad moods. However, Legend knows about these moods, he has been there before and knows how to take care of her. Other audiences, like fans or those in relationships, can sympathize because being in a relationship takes hard work, and you have to know your partner in order to understand what they are going through. When you work on building a relationship it makes both of the people better at situations like Legend has

Twenty One Pilots is an alternative/indie band made up of two members, Joseph and Josh Dunn. They are known to occasionally rap and include specific tempos and beats that correspond with each song’s thought provoking lyrics. In the song “Oh. Ms. Believer” by Twenty One Pilots they use the analogy of snow to describe a young girl going through depression. The band accurately describes the feeling of being trapped inside one's mind as they go through the hardships of this mental illness. Although at first this song may be interpreted as another cliché alternative hit, the meanings hidden beneath the lyrics are sure to tug at the listener's heart strings as he/she looks through the eyes of someone who struggles with a loved one who is depressed.…

The love shown by Anne Bradstreet in "To My Dear and Loving Husband" matches that of Jason Mraz in "I Won't Give Up." In Bradstreet's poem she says, "If ever man were lov'd by wife, then thee" (Bradstreet 2). In this statement, Bradstreet says she truly loves her husband. Just as Bradstreet describes her love for her husband in her poem, Jason does the same in his song: "I won't give up on us / even if the skies get rough / I'm giving you all my love / I'm still looking up" (Mraz 9-12). Mraz will never give up on the relationship and he will give his partner all of his love. He does not literally mean that he will continue to look up into the sky until his relationship gets better. Mraz means that he will never give up hope when their relationship hits a rough patch. In doing this he matches what Bradstreet says in her poem about always loving her husband. Love does not change through time, love is the same in every century.…

There are wires growing out of everyone’s ears. That is, to listen to music. Music is an infinite source, whether that source is for lifting up spirits, expressing underlying pain and anger, or just merely a distraction. Music from well-developed Broadway musicals to a series of beats at a party, it is something we all have done: listen to music. Some even say that music defines us but it that really true? Is our music the soundtrack of who we each are? Do what we listen to support our core values in life? To answer this I sought out the one song I listened to most, “This Kiss” by Alex Days and Carrie Hope Fletcher, and interpreted its lyrics to see if it matched with my core values of commitment, happiness, and love.…

Lieder ohne Worte (Song without Words) is written by the Romantic composer Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. It is a collection of forty-eight short lyrical piano pieces of markedly song-like character that he wrote at various periods of his life between 1809 and 1847. They are well suited to the study of musical form because of their artistic value. Op. 19b, No. 1 Andante con moto in E major was written in 1830 and is the first in the collection. The piece is in the key of E major and modulates from E to B to G major.…
