Research Paper Outline For The Great Gatsby
Thesis statement: Jay Gatsby has to strive; that makes him keep going and feeling alive.
II. Jay Gatsby’s childhood
A. As a young man, Jay Gatsby dreams of being rich.
1. Nicks explains what Gatsby has told him.
2. From that moment on, he never seems to lose hope.
B. Jay Gatsby is a man with questionable morals right.
1. When Daisy comes to tea at Nick’s house, that is the moment Gatsby meets her again.
2. Nick explains He stepped outside and then came back inside and realized that he cannot afford to lose her again (page).
III. Gatsby’s plan
A. When he was invited to Daisy’s house he did not even put it in his head that daisy is married and has a daughter.
1. The time when Gatsby saw Daisy’s daughter he didn’t even seem to care.
2. That’s why he always was missing something, he needed to realize it is not about strive or getting what you want it is about having good morals.

Gatsby was always thinking bout daisy, he never really was thinking about himself that’s why is it so hard for him.
1. He took the blame for Daisy’s accident. Never got a call in return to say thank you.
2.Daisy really only had unresolved business with Gatsby that’s all. Gatsby’s endeavor was to be with daisy yet daisy would not do what Gatsby wanted which was to tell her husband Tom that she never loved him.
IV. Gatsby’s point of view
A. He thinks that he could bring the past back.
1. He wants to relive that moment “Your wife does not love you”. That shows that he wants everything to go back to normal
