Statement of Purpose

The importance of computers in today’s world can hardly be overemphasized; computers have become an indispensable part of our daily life. Having pursued my four-year Bachelor of Engineering program in Computer Sciences, it’s almost two years since I stepped into the world of Information Technology. I am confident that I possess the requisite background and aptitude for pursuing active research in Software Engineering at your esteemed university.

My love for Software development and web applications started during Under Graduate Schooling days. My admission in “Datta Meghe College of Engineering”, which is under the prestigious Mumbai University, was the stepping stone to the world of Computer Science for me. During my under graduation, the profound syllabus helped strengthen the basic concepts of Software Engineering and Development.

In these four years of study, I have strived to maintain an approach of expending independent effort in all my endeavors. In third year, I had a project based on website development where I designed the Formula1 Race Website. Another project in third year was to develop Result Generation and Analysis System, which is a user-friendly system to enter students result and generate various reports using Visual Basic. Final year project “Electronic Database Management System” at Kores India Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai provided me a gateway towards the world of Software Development. The project provides visual interface for managing documents electronically. The front end was designed using Visual Basic whereas Oracle was used as back end.

Since I had good academics, I got placed in TechMahindra Ltd., one of the leading software companies in India. I joined the company in July 2006 and I got chance to work on various projects, which was the beginning of my professional life. I have been involved in project for both the BTWholesale.com and BT.com portal. The projects dealt with implementation of portal using J2EE Open
