During the first semester we will cover chapters 1 - 3. The first quarter will review concepts and vocabulary that were covered in Spanish I. The midterm exam is given at the end of January. During the second semester we will cover chapters 4 - 6 with key points from chapters 7-10. These topics will be covered on the final exam in June. There will be frequent quizzes throughout the course on reading, writing, listening and speaking Spanish – each class period there is usually a quiz, sometimes two quizzes or a test. There will be a chapter test at the end of each chapter. A cumulative participation grade will be assigned each quarter; the grade will reflect the student's use of Spanish in class and preparedness to learn.
Student Success
Be in your assigned seat when the bell rings.
Bring required materials to class – notebook, pen or pencil.
Take notes in class.
NO GUM unless I give it to you.
After every class spend 15-20 minutes reviewing at home.
Keep current on homework assignments. The best way to stay organized is to get a planner!
Do your own homework! Homework is usually started at school and finished at home. Put effort into your work – if you just slap something down on paper just to have something to turn in, you will not receive credit for the assignment. If homework is being finished in class the day it is due, it will not be accepted. You can turn in one late assignment each quarter for credit.
