There are some people that argue that spanking their kids is bad for their development. However in my first article, 8 reasons to spank your kids "While some studies have shown the negative effects of spanking, today’s disrespectful youth have shown what happens when necessary spanking is forgone"( madamenoire). People were taking in consideration not spanking their kids, however time has tell those kids are more disrespectful than kids that were spanked. authority, and we need to respect them. http://madamenoire.com/40373/8-reasons-to-spank-your-kids/?onswipe_redirect=never Spanking kids for bad punishment is very important because they start to relate bad behavior to punishment.
“Those who were physically disciplined performed better than those who weren’t in a whole series of categories, including school grades, an optimistic outlook on life, the willingness to perform volunteer work, and the ambition to attend college”(newsmax.com). Spanking is a way to teach kids the consequences for bad actions.“She also found that children who were never spanked tended to have behavioral problems, and were not more competent than their peers” (newsmax.com). In the study kids that were not spanked showed negative behavior, and were not as successful as kids that were spanked. I believe kids that are spanked build more independence because they learn how bad the consequences can
be. http://www.newsmax.com/US/spanking-studies-children-spock/2010/01/07/id/345669/ In the next article I also found studies that support the use of physical punishment,” kids smacked before age 6 grew up to be more successful, and that there was not enough evidence to say that smacking harms most kids”( nydailynews.com). Spanking helped the kids be more successful and there is no evidence that says spanking harms them. I can relate to this information because I had a friend that was never spanked, he barely graduated school because his mom talked to the teachers and now he is currently struggling in college. He did not learn how to be independent because his parents decided to not spank him, and that build up a very comfortable connection, in which he did not feel the need to be successful.
