Some researches clearly show that English language has positive effect on the economy of the countries which use EMI. For example, according to the first statistical research that commissioned from the Euro monitor, in some countries like Bangladesh, Nigeria, and Pakistan which use English as the medium of instruction, developed countries like US and UK have more tendencies to invest in those countries rather than they invest in the other countries like the Cameron and Rwanda (Lotbinière, 2011). Besides that, the amount of this investment is related to the level of English that those country use (Lotbinière, 2011). According to Lotbinière (2011) that confirmed, “in the three countries, investment from English-speaking countries accounts for between 33% and 41% of total FDI” and as the result of using English as the medium of instruction earning money of the country will be increased significantly which position the country in a higher level of economy (Lotbinière, 2011). Internationalizing the education is one of the main effects of applying EMI in the country especially in universities and schools (Dearden, 2014). As the majority of educational materials are in English, using EMI in schools and universities surly helps students to be professional in all subjects and be successful in their academic life (Dearden, 2014). As Professor Ernesto Macaro (2011), who is the director of Oxford university, states that “More and more institution across the world are using English to teach academic subjects, spurred on by a desire to internationalize their offer and their academic profile” (as cited in dearden, 2014). For example, the government of Pakistan decided to change all its schools from the Urdu medium of instruction to English medium of instruction in order to compete with the other countries in terms of educational achievements (Dearden, 2014).
