Introduction
A. Narration: In the world today consumers are persuaded by various marketing methods, the most common method being advertisements. However many companies behind these ads choose not to disclose certain important facts about their product. On a box of Newport cigarettes the warning label reads as; Surgeon General’s Warning: Cigarette smoke contains carbon monoxide, although this is a true fact about cigarette smoke the supplier failed to include the product can also cause lung cancer (popline.org), along with many other side effects. It is only right that consumers are fully aware of the product they choose to purchase.
B. Thesis: As consumers who value the truth or outcome behind a product, we have the right to know what some companies choose not to disclose within ads.
C. Preview: Today we will briefly review the meaning of disclosure along with the meaning of digitally altering, how Patent Law protects a product and also protects the consumers, along with insight on the companies that choose to disclose information and those that choose not to.

Body
A. Define disclosure & digitally altering
i. Disclosure is making new or secret information known.
i.e. The company (TheTruth.com) disclosed information on tobacco companies, stating methane is found in dog poop and that urea is found in cat pee, these are just two chemicals to name. Both of these chemicals are also found in cigarette smoke, despite the fact that tobacco companies haven’t disclosed these facts on their products. ii. Does this mean tobacco companies have digitally altered an ad? No, the tobacco company simply chose not to disclose meaningful facts about their product.
