Speech On Homelessness
If the government can afford to house politicians and pay them large salaries, then why are 50% of the homeless pop who require immediate accommodation getting turned away
Good morning /afternoon my topic today is that The government and general population need to make more effort to fix the homelessness crisis. Throughout this speech I will be referring to homelessness as anyone who does not have a stable living arrangement or a roof over their head e.g. anything from couch surfing to living on the streets, which is also known as sleeping rough
What if suddenly you found yourself without a home and you were unable to get any form of assistance through any of the homeless support service agencies? With the lack of adequate funding available for these agencies at the moment, that’s a high probability. Or, what if you "fell between the cracks" and didn’t qualify for certain types of assistance? Wouldn’t you like the rest of the community to give you a hand up?
I know there are people out there and most likely right here who believe that the homeless are just lazy and lack the motivation to get a job and to be honest free money and food is great …show more content…
Members of the homeless community are people, just like you and I. There are children living on the streets, families are torn apart, children taken from their parents, by government agencies who would rather use more of the tax payer’s money rehoming these children, rather than helping the family find a permanent home and a job so that they can contribute to the economy. Yet still the government continue to do very little. Instead they force these people out of their “homes” on the street and replace them will nothing more than plants. Our government should be ‘for the people’. Not only ‘for certain people’. Thank
