This article informs the reader that healthcare professionals are more involved than ever with the treatment of patients. This places a lot of responsibility on the provider and therefore they should be armed with spiritual tools if they are going to effectively and holistically help with spiritual needs of a patient. Anyone working in the service filed should know whom they are servicing in order to efficiently and effectively serve a client based on their needs and spiritual background. If as a provider there is no understanding of where a person is spiritually, how can you possibly hope to help. When you are working in the blind not knowing anything about who you are servicing, you run the risk of missing something that could be vital to the healing or treatment of that person. The use of toolbox assessment is brilliant. I really liked how the author explained the position and responsibilities of the healthcare provider and how involved they are with clients. I especially liked how the writer named and explained the five spiritual toolboxes he chose to use. …show more content…
I have a saying “When you know better you can do better. If you don’t know better, you can’t do better.” My ultimate goal working in the Kingdom of God as a Professional Counselor and an Evangelist of the Gospel, is to be the best that I can be. I truly believe that having information that can help in the growth of an individual is a powerful tool. As an example as to how the spiritual toolbox could be used for a woman (Carla) who has come to a women’s fellowship seeking spiritual help. I would not want Carla to feel out of place or uncomfortable by asking her a lot of questions. I would first engage her with a conversation of love and hospitality. This approach would be used to gain trust along with information from her to find out what
