Business Questions that you need to be able to answer for your chosen business / organisation. Further Guidance: Name of Organisation (A): _St Albans
What are the organisation’s main business activities? Describe the company background. How it is structured and state in what countries does the organisation operate in. St Albans city councils the local authority for the St Albans. The council consists of 58 elected members, representing various members of parties.

What is the size of the business? Provide details of the value of Sales, size of Profits and number of Employees. St Albans council has £2,060,000 earnigs each year from tax collection which is used to provide local services for those living within the vicinity.

Describe who owns the business – this could be private shareholders, the government, employees, private individuals or a private Trust to name just a few. The council is apart of everyone life’s who live in the area which is public funded, and is run by those who we elect, they make decision on out behalf, which we would not be capable to make. For example this may be which company to out source recycling too.
What are the aims of the business? What is the businesses mission statement, values, vision? You will need to research this information in company corporate literature – Annual Reports etc.

Who manages the business? Identify and describe the key people within the business? This should include CEO/MD, Chairman, Board Level Executives and non-Executive Directors, Senior Directors down to Departmental Managers. You need to include the person, their title and role. The mayor of St Albans oversees the running of council, but has more of a role in the relations with the public. Key members along with the councillors make decision on behalf of the people
