The Star of David was a symbol to the jewish that soon became a symbol of memories that led back to the tragic event of the holocaust. The Star held much confusion to judaism and had a way of “identification” to the jewish. Another meaning for the Star of David is the “Shield of David” and held thoughts of protection. The jewish held a powerful passion for the star and showed resilience in such a time of misery for many. It was a way for jewish citizens to identify themselves. This identification was forced on jews since the medieval times and is not a shock nor a new idea to the jews. These stars were mostly made of cloth and outlined with a thick black line to know that the star belonged to the jews. These stars held a patch on the average jewish citizens left arm and the star held its own place directly in the middle of the patch. The star itself was intended to humiliate the jews and was held out for segregation and discrimination, this made it easier in camps to identify who is who and for what reason.
