Stargirl Conformity

Conformity is common in the world, most people conform to whom they look up to. People can be courageous enough to stay the way they are or can lean into conforming. People conform the most at work or in school. At school people conform to be “normal” and at work, people conform to be official and disciplinary so there boss can like and trust them. I’m not saying conformity is bad. 1 example is that at work it isn't bad to conform because it can help you get a Better and Higher paid job. In Mica high a new kid came to school, Stargirl Caraway. She was home schooled by her mom and has never been to a school with this many people. She has never conformed to anything, she just does what she wants (she does not break any school rules). She’s unique. In the novel, Stargirl, author Jerry Spinelli suggest that people who are less confident or get pressured conform more to cool or “normal” people.
No one likes Stargirl at school because she cheers for the other basketball teams and was the first one to help the sun valley high school star with his head on her lap. Even though he had the sun valley cheerleaders to help him, sun valley coaches, his own teammates , and Sun valley fans. Leo wants people to like Stargirl. “But were not alone are we? We live with them like it or not” p.g138. Leo is trying to make stargirl conform into a “normal” Mica High girl. He wants this, so he doesn't get shunned by Mica high schoolers just because he hangs out with Stargirl. Lucky for Leo she listened to him and
