Starting a Music Management Company
Aqsw12 When you first start a business the first thing you should do is plan out what it’s going to take to achieve your goals and make the company successful. You should write down the goals you want to achieve and how long you are going to give yourself to make the goals happen. This gives you something to work toward and to improve your business until you reach the goals you have set for yourself. One of the first things that should be done is figure out the startup cost for the company and research the most cost efficient way to do it. This includes the cost of license and permits, supplies, and the rent on the location you pick for your business. Once you figure out how you are going to get the money you need to get a location that is easy to find and accessible to any clients that you have or any that you could possibly get in the future. Once this is done you have to get a business license for the company name. The name should be easy to remember and as catchy as possible. There are several forms to fill out and fees to pay, but once everything is legal it will easier to focus on growing the business without any legal headaches to worry about. From my experience the best way to be successful at starting any business is either word of mouth or advertising. Advertising can cost lots of money, but your company will not survive without it. If you don’t advertise it’s going to be nearly impossible to be successful. Music Management takes much or all of any free time you may have. I say this because of all the long and odd hours you have to work. Meeting people and trying to get more bands to sign with your company takes being out at all hours of the night in mainly bars and night clubs. It seems like you never get time to do anything but work. It can be stressful at times dealing with club
