One of my problems would be finding the right people to grow the business. Finding people, who are able to shoot and edit videos and do it well and probably work for less money than they would get at a major company. To really get into what editing softwares such as Final Cut and Premier Pro can do a person needs years of use in it and it cannot be taught over night. Also teaching a person how to frame shots, the right type of lighting and how a shot is meant to make a person feel takes time to learn. So I would need people who are experienced in those fields. My other challenge would be dealing with a sense of isolation and disillusionment, editing can take hours to days to get done. Since, I would be starting this business solo this would be a major problem because I would have hours of just sitting in front of a computer by myself and editing already a stressful endeavor. This is all on top of trying to run the business on my…

Photography will be a challenge because I will have to gain the ability to photograph something ordinary and make it absolutely extraordinary. My mother is a photographer, I showed interest in photography when my mother began doing it because she makes everything she photographs an amazing moment. My prior knowledge is very little although I have taken trips with my mother to take photograph of people and nature. This project will challenge my prior knowledge of photography because I know very little about photography. This project stretches beyond my comfort zone because I will have to become close to my mentor and my camera, it will also stretch out of my comfort zone because I will have to associate with sports teams and people that are unknown to me frequently. This project is involved with my current hobbies and pursuits because, after my project is completed, there is a possibility of…

Sports, portraits, architecture, still life, I didn’t know where to begin! I decided to do contact my friend, Elysabeth, who was already in the commercial photography class so she could give me some tips for taking great pictures. She told me to start by a genre of photography that I had the most trouble in and work my way down to the easier categories. I took her advice and wow, did that help! Since I had the most difficulty in sports photography, I started with taking action-shots of the athletes at games, and they actually turned out all right, thanks to paying attention to my teacher in the Principles class. Then, I worked down to portraits and asked the most photogenic friends of mine to model for me. I used different angles of light and poses in order to use my photo characterize my friends as different emotions. Those photos turned out pretty well too; my confidence in my art increased when Elysabeth critiqued my pictures and told me that I had a good chance of making it into the Commercial Photography class. I was excited, but my challenges weren’t…
