I had a strong inclination towards science and technology and with a competitive rank in All India Engineering Entrance Exam; I secured admission into a four-year undergraduate program in the engineering stream at Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology. I chose Electronics and Communication discipline for my specialization because it’s a field rich with opportunity owing to its wide and cross disciplinary presence. The ever increasing use of electronics in every branch of modern science, from astrophysics to medicine, emerging technologies in mobile and satellite communications, ever increasing popularity of computers and World Wide Web, miniaturization of iPods, laptops, cameras etc. and digitization of almost every aspect of life became key factors in my decision to major in Electronics and Communications Engineering.
My experiences and propensities at the college indicated an analytical mind and a natural flair for programming. As a result, I did exceptionally well in theories of Mathematics and theory and laboratory work of VLSI, Microprocessors and Microcontrollers. Being elected as the Electronics and Communications Students’ Lady Representative, I became a member of the organizing committee for events like technical fest, cultural fest, guest lectures and seminars. In the final semester of my bachelor’s degree, I did internship with Cadence Design Systems, an Electronic Design Automation (EDA) Company, in Bangalore, India. It was my first
