Statement Of Purpose: Why Are You Interested In Rensselaer
Why are you interested in Rensselaer?
Physics, calculus, biology, environmental science, computer engineering. Any utterance of these terms in an academic setting excites me. Physics was my favorite class in high school. Although challenging at times, they were challenges openly and eagerly accepted. I proceeded to take two online engineering courses to facilitate my interest and challenge myself. I received the academic awards in all of my math and science classes so far. Logic has always been an inclination of mine, with my hobby of researching and learning about forensic science.
Where else would i want to go? A college woth a rich history, the oldest technological research university? How else would I want to engage in my passions?
I am

University of Miami, Florida State University, and Florida and Agricultural and Mechanical University are all outstanding colleges but the great Bethune-Cookman University caught my attention. Bethune had a great faculty and staff and the people were very friendly when I came to Daytona for orientation. My best friend of eight years, Bethune’s great nursing program, and how God is involved in everything you do on campus is what brought me here.…

A Modest Proposal" by Jonathan Swift fits the satire definition because throughout the whole short story the man is proposing real life problems in society and turning them sarcastic. He uses sarcasm to emphasize how well he believes his ideas would benefit his country, Ireland. For example when he talks about the Irish eating their babies due to overpopulation. This wouldn't be an effective way to end the problem but instead people should stop having…

While attending Lewis & Clark College I will foster my passion for nature, environmental advocacy, and politics. Participating in things like the Environmental Living Learning Community will provide an engaging and enriching space to form long-lasting connections with people who share the same desire to promote environmental sustainability. Portland and the beautifully wooded campus at Lewis & Clark provide the type of natural environment that inspires my initiative for environmental advocacy. I look forward to exploring the opportunities near and within Portland, including the many hiking trails. The outdoors have been an important part of my life since childhood. Looking back, some of my happiest memories are from visiting National Parks,…

I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Management from Southern Illinois University. My reasoning for choosing Grand Canyon University for my graduate studies was because of economic and Christian values. Even though, I explored other colleges, but, after looking at the curriculums they offered. I felt as though Grand Canyon University was a better alternative for what I was striving to accomplish in my future career. The field of study that I am seeking is Health Care Administration so that one day I might become an administrator in a hospital or healthcare facility. My overall goal is to receive my Doctoral degree in Mental Health Counseling Trauma and Crisis so that I in the near future, I might be able to help individuals…

Wood Working and engineering courses both interest me greatly. I have taken classes on these subjects at my high school and done very well in them. In high school, I enjoyed reading novels such as Four Seasons by Stephen King and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain. I enjoyed reading these books because they keep you on the edge of your seat and won’t let you put the book down. I enjoy letting my mind imagine what things might look like while reading a book. This made the experience of reading them so enjoyable for me, and made English class one of my academic interests. My main academic interest however is aviation. I am excited to have the opportunity to study this subject academically. I always like to know how complex systems work, especially in aircraft. I am interested in learning more about aircraft systems such as Ground Proximity Warning Systems, and Resolution Advisory Systems because of how interesting they are to me. I want to know everything about commercial airliners. I want to know how all of the systems and instruments work, what they do, and how to control them. I am intrigued to know what every switch, knob and button does on an airliner. I am also excited for every course that is part of the aviation curriculum, such as meteorology and flight physics; weather patterns at flight levels interest me. I am egger to learn…

My love for Marquette University started with the campus. Being nestled in the heart of Milwaukee, Marquette feels like a close-knit community, but has an open, urban vibe. During my first campus trip I toured all of the main buildings, and was particularly impressed by the new engineering building. The tour guides encouraged questions from prospective students. They didn’t give us canned responses, or answer from a script; instead they gave thoughtful and concise answers that showed what Marquette is all about. Marquette’s prestigious engineering department, academic excellence, and famed namesake all led me to want to attend more than any other school.…

After visiting Towson for a tour, I realized this higher learning institution has three key ingredients to nurture me in my academic pursuits as well as my personal growth. The first ingredient is Towson’s diversity in campus life. I am impressed with the plethora of campus clubs including special interests and spirituality. The second ingredient is the marriage of research-based learning with hands-on application. I was thrilled to learn from the tour guide about the faculty-mentored research experiences which are student-centered. The third ingredient which helped make Towson University my first choice is its solid foundation in the liberal arts.…

During my years of secondary education I have developed a great interest in computers, not only how they are made but what really goes on behind the screen, many other courses usually need some sort of equipment to create something new, but the mesmerizing thing about computer science is that you can create something Implausible from nothing, Studying AS computing has enhanced both my knowledge and experience in the applications of computer systems, basic computer architecture and the language a computer understands which is binary a set of numerical figures (1’s and 0’s) that when put in a specific sequence become instructions which are executed by the computer. Algorithms and logical problem solving is something I enjoy a lot which can explain my interest within programming and computers themselves. I have had the opportunity to learn programming in visual basic and by using HTML which can be very confusing and challenging but this is what keeps me motivated to try harder and complete what I have started, my curiosity has also led me to choose AS Maths, this has given me a quick grasp of concepts within computing allowing me to think out of the box and find a solution for a problem in way I understand. I enjoy these subjects the most and I hope what I continue to learn will help me in university.…
