Static vs Dynamic
The type of routing used in a network defines how well the network will function in gathering information. When you are configuring an IP route between two routers, there are two different types of routing that would be appropriate, and the types that are used are dependent on the size of the company. With a small company I would recommend Static Routing, while with a larger company I would recommend dynamic routing. Static routing is ideal for a small business, because one of the key advantages in Static routing is that it is very easy to implement this type of routing into a small network, it is very secure, the information is routed to the destinations that same way every time, and there is no routing algorithm or update. While the advantages for Static routing are best for a small business, as the company grows the configuration complexity will increase. Dynamic routing will be best suited for a larger company, since multiple routers will be used and Dynamic routing is suitable in all of these types of network topologies. The Dynamic routing system is also independent of the network size, and also reroutes any traffic automatically, if it is possible to reroute the traffic. These routes will be dependent of the current topology. Dynamic routing would not be ideal for a small business due to Dynamic routing being more complex to implement then static routing, as well requires more resources and bandwidth then Static Routing. Dynamic routing costs more in the long run to maintain then Static Routing. As we can see Dynamic routing is best used for larger companies due to the cost of maintenance, but it also adapts to the topology of the network, where Static routing is ideal for smaller businesses.

However, the insecurity can be solved by using the RIP protocol for information that is less sensitive to the network design (Lathem et el, 2006). Similarly, when the information is redistributed, the traffic may be overwhelming. But the network administrators will have to divide the traffic so that all the routers can each carry their weight of the information. The problems with the flow of traffic will be fixed and distributed through the routers. Each router will be used for certain information and that way the routers will not be overworked. Also the security will be set up so that all confidential information goes through those securities enabled routing protocol. Internet will be purchased internet from the best vendor nearby like Verizon. In the design a router will be installed in each office and lab, then configure them to operate on the network with appropriate security configuration. Finally, the internet connection would come from those routers and all the labs and offices would run on that…

Most would say VPN is the low-cost way to establish remote connections between offices and to securely provide connections to a mobile workforce. The central office should be equipped with a VPN concentrator that is configured to maintain the number of connections to be serviced for the mobile sales force. In order to provide complete network access to the mobile workforce the use of IPSec with L2TP, ESP, AH, using SHA-256, RSA2048 and AES256 is recommended over a UDP transport. Each branch office and the central office will require a point of presence to the Internet along with a local loop that provides enough bandwidth to accommodate the office demands. In order to keep cost to a minimum, it is recommended that SDSL be used at each branch…

From an IT management perspective, setting up a DHCP server would really depend on the size of the company. A DNS server could be recommended in any setting for faster browsing and recognition of sites. If your network is running the same Operating systems and it uses a name resolution method other than DNS, you can continue to use that method without needing DNS. If your network is running different operating systems, or it connects to the Internet, you will want to deploy DNS as the Internet consists of protocols that require DNS. Justifying setting up either server really depends on the admin, but if you think about it managing two computers statically is nothing compared to having to mange twenty computers statically.…

Computer Dynamics is a microcomputer software development company that has a 300-computer network. The company is located in three adjacent five-story buildings in an office park, with about 100 computers in each building. The current network is a poorly designed mix of Ethernet and token ring (Ethernet in two buildings and token ring in the other). The networks in all three buildings are heavily overloaded, and the company anticipates significant growth in network traffic. There is currently no network connection among the buildings, but this is one objective in…

In this scenario I will be providing information associated with the creation of a WAN for ACME Manufacturing. This business has several locations spread out all over America and requires a WAN to connect their locations in America with their newly build plant in China. With the headquarters and engineering offices in Atlanta, which are right across the street from each other, the plan would make sense to connect all communication here. There are also distribution offices in New York, Chicago, and Phoenix which will have to be connected to this network to attend the weekly company meetings and have access to information stored at headquarters.…

The company proposed a new way to distribute content over the Internet. The reason why this technology is invented is a real problem related to the Internet. The main problem is that existing routing systems on the Internet are not able to serve new needs of consumers. Consumers moved to more sophisticated multi-media applications and routing system became overloaded. It resulted with delays in the system and slowness of the web in peak periods.…
