The story “The Story of an Hour” by Chopin about this character named Mrs. Mallard who has heart disease and then later in the story she finds out that her husband dies from a train accident. She was in tears and crying for days and never wanted to leave her room. One day she realized that she doesn’t really need her husband anymore and now she’s free as a women and she doesn’t have stick to her stereotypes anymore and she can do anything she wants now and she can achieve what she wants to achieve. She was finally happy for once in her life. Later in the story she finally gets to see her husband he wasn’t actually dead. He wasn’t one of the people who were a part of the accident. Mallard was emotional and sad before and now she realized that she’s free because she can do anything she wants now and doesn’t and doesn’t need to stick to her stereotypes that society thinks that we should all stick too. This shows that she’s strong and not actually weak. This is shown when the text says “she was beginning to recognize this thing that was approaching to process her, and she was striving to beat it back with her with as a powerless as her two while slender hands would have been” While the story talk about how she’s weak and not strong about the death of her husband, she can’t take the new but in this quote it shows that she’s actually stronger than that.
