Stereotypes-Original Writing
“Order up!” yells a juvenile lean male waiter says as he seizes a tray of a mysterious drinks. He brings the tray immediately to my table and blurts, “2 large rainbow shakes with blue straws?” “Those would be ours!” I replied eagerly. “One for you, madam and one for you sir. Anything else I can get for you folks?” The waiter says in an dreadful counterfeit British accent. “That will be all. Thank you!” Replies the companion at my table.
“Ugh the heat is melting me like a popsicle on the Fourth of July!” I grumble. “Should we head down to the beach?” asks my mysterious table associate.”I’m sure the waves of the ocean will refresh us.” “Yes! Let’s go now!” I shout in enthusiasm. We slurp the shakes down in a matter of seconds and hustle to the beach. As we walk down the peer men, women and children began to encircle us. They squeal with glee at us and ask my mysterious friend for picture. “Please! Please! Please! May I have a picture?” Shouts a little boy in front of the sea of people. “Of course you may!” Shouts my friend laughingly.
“Then all in unison, like that of a church choir. The crowd of people began chanting my popular friend’s name. “Rock! Rock! Rock!”

The sand scorched our feet like steaks on a fiery grill. I had brought the Rock along to join me for a surfing lesson. We snatched our wetsuits and our boards and hit the waves. The ocean water sends a chilling sensation through my body. The polar water feels like a steamy shower after a long day, calming and relaxing. The waves are monstrous and intimidating, however, I seem to ride them effortlessly like I had done it a million times before. I dash past the Rock and under a curling wave. In the waves there are vividly colored fish swimming in schools. The water is so translucent that one can easily see the ocean floor, and the coral and seaweed that lay on

Stereotypes. Stereotypes play a major and huge role today in society negatively and positively. Stereotypes can form truthful and untruthful results that can mentally, emotionally and physically destroy a person, race or culture which we see today. Stereotype is a fixed over generalized belief about a particular group or class of people (Meclod). I chose to write on the topic stereotype because in society today we as humans stereotype one another all the time and do not realize it. Research have found that stereotype exist of different races, cultures, or ethic groups (Meclod). Today our world is so based off what the next person thinks and what they will say and do if something is not done a certain way and it bothers me. John is sitting in an upscale restaurant with a few of his co-workers from the law firm. The atmosphere is nice. The food is good. The waitresses are beautiful. For some reason, because of his lack of social assertiveness, John is having a hard time fitting into the group. He is feeling left out of conversations and seemingly always one step behind the conversation. They have just sat down and he is already feeling his palms become sweaty. The waitress comes to the table and asks the other guys what they want to drink. They all agree on a variety of wines; cabernets, pino noirs, pino blancs, zinfandels, ect. Now, John normally doesn’t drink anything. In fact, he has seen the effects of alchohol in an alcoholic mother growing up. He knows it’s probably not the best thing for him. He is still debating what to do when the Waitress finishes taking their orders and turns to him.…

I calmly pull back the soft, almost velvety sheets and allow my feet to gently touch the cool tile. Sitting on the edge of the bed, I look out at the gorgeous sunrise and endless, sparkling ocean that lies like a sheet of glass at the edge of the white sand beach that is littered with green and brown seaweed and sea shells of all shapes, sizes and colors. The sun glistens brightly off of the water and the heat only seems intensified by the mirror-like surface. I blink more as the sun begins to rise and the water reflects the bright light into my eyes.…

Not too long after, our waiter had arrived, a man that looked like he was wearing what would be a tuxedo without the finishing top coat; black slacks and a white top shirt that look to have a folded fringe-like design across the chest area, with a black bow tie on, and a cloth napkin laying over his left wrist, he asks us if we’re ready to make our order.…

The smell of the salt when deprived of water, a sponge becomes hard and brittle. It can shrivel up like wilted flowers, lifeless. Water relaxes sponges as they fill up and make them soft and supple. But at times, it’s hard for me to be in need of something to fill me up and restore my deadened senses, too, if you will, water me. The ocean satiates my senses and rejuvenates my spirit within me. I’m awakening from my trance and imposed upon the insensibility of the world. For me, the ocean has always been my escape with new beginnings and a brand new adventure. The vast ocean is filled with tides that come and go and waves that break in different parts of the ocean. It was like the water was dancing or showing a fit of anger daring a person to look on. The ripples of the bubbles remind me of a bubble bath. Even the warmth of the sun gives off the mood of summer festivities after a long and frigid winter. It’s a calming getaway from the stress and pressure of everyday life.…

During the day I swim; I feel the warmth of the Gulf of Mexico surrounding me, and I just lay in the ocean, letting its depth take me over and relax my body like nothing else could. The water reaches eighty, especially in June, and swimming in the ocean is more satisfying than taking a bath. There is something about the ocean, or maybe just this ocean, that relaxes my body; it allows me to feel completely comfortable and without stress. So many summertime memories rush to my mind while recalling this beach; there are those long days spent at the beach, with packed lunches, coats of sunscreen, and kids building sand castles. There are palapas that line the back of the beach; brown straw-like huts that serve as an umbrella for people planning on spending a long day at the beach, and there are always old people with their stuff propped under the palapa, but their bodies baking in the hot sun; their leather skin is so dark from countless days at their beach.…

I am soon at the point where my skin can no longer take the harsh rays of the blistering summer sun. I run as fast as my feet can carry me toward what my body sees as heaven, an endless pool of cool, blue water. I dive into the crashing waves head first. Floating peacefully on the waves, I am unaware of the approaching waves that are soon to break over me. I duck down just in time to avoid a monstrous, braking wave that was rolling in my direction. I bob up and down in the water until the world seems right again. I finally venture out of the water back onto the sandy shore. I sit basking in the sun once again, feeling the prickle of the saltwater drying on my sun kissed skin. I promise myself that I will not wait so long before I return…

The sun shines. The water glistens in the bright light. The wind swirls around me, unsettling the hot sand beneath my feet. I run to the ocean, disturbing the calm water as I dive in. The water surrounds me, engulfing me in its warmth. I am now at peace. For right now, at this moment, I am one with the water and the salt and the sand, and everything is okay. All my problems are washed away with the tide. It’s just me and the ocean. Just me and the beach. Just me and my favorite place in the world.…

I am lured into her by the rhythmic sound of waves crashing. Powerfully calm, pulling in and thrusting back onto the beach, creating a soothing lullaby to put my anxiety at rest. This was a foreign feeling to me, I have always been shy. The birds chirp cheerfully as they fly across over head. The scenic sounds create a meditation that eases my mind to a place of tranquility and zen. I breath in, with the ocean…I breath out, with the ocean.…
